Six squares, one cat, no cooperation
Measured on a Sunday, then again on a Tuesday to be sure. Same answer both times, same expression both times.
A treat, a bag rustled, and finally the front door opened. He raised his head, worked out what was happening, and put it back down.
Four of them were spent finding the tape measure. He held the curl the entire time without being asked and without appearing to care.
Two of them have degrees in this. One drew over the photo and posted the overlay. The cat has not been informed and would not change anything if he were.

He picked this exact tile and never moved off it
Purple sky, green squares, two rocks in the distance that have not changed since he got here. He sat down on the fourth tile from the left because the light was good and has treated the matter as closed ever since.
Everything else in the frame lines up around him. Nobody planned that and nobody can undo it.
He did not do the maths. The maths caught up with him.
Still on the fourth tile. Still exactly where he was.
